I am not a big proponent of “gamification”, but The RAPAEL Smart Pegboard from Korean company, Neofect is one product for which it seems appropriate and would be effective.

RAPAEL provides a versatile solution for physical therapists dealing with all kinds of rehabilitation patients. The board has three different templates that can be used – a pinch board for finger dexterity exercises, a mixed-shape board, and a board for use with whole-hand grasping of cylindrical dowels. There is a menu of pre-programmed sequences that illuminate the peg holes in various patterns, or illuminate when a correct action is performed. Each program is designed to engage different cognitive as well as physical tasks.

I would think this system would provide a much more compelling experience for the patient than do standard products of its kind. It should add significantly to interest and engagement, and improve compliance with the rehab regimen.
